With 2021 on the horizon, many Malaysians agree it couldn’t come faster!  COVID-19 has not only changed the educational system in Malaysia, but it has catapulted us into the wonderful world of virtual learning.  With Malaysia still in a partial lockdown, many parents have adjusted to working from home while being a part-time teacher for their children.  That being said, many families worry that their children’s education has suffered – especially with the birth of partial in-school learning and partial virtual learning.  Many schools in Malaysia are still working out the kinks in this new system, and it has left parents concerned.

The 2021 school year will continue to look different.  After COVID-19 swept through the world in 2020, it’s left disaster in its’ wake and educational systems are no different.  While we have seen many changes in education, thankfully the academic calendar has been released, with the number of schooling days returning to the normal 194 days.

Education Minister Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin had announcement in Parliament that the dates for the new school year were decided, “This new date is much later than the dates school usually begins,” he said on Aug 3rd, 2020.

The 2021 school year is scheduled to begin on January 20th, 2021 and end on December 9th for schools in Johor, Kelantan, Kedah and Terengganu. For schools in other states, the school year is scheduled to begin on January 20th, and end on December 10th. This is to ensure there are still 194 school days in the academic calendar.  Naturally, there will still be holidays such as Chinese New Year, Hari Raya, Deepavali and also term breaks as well.

The full academic calendar can be found at the Education Ministry website at www.moe.gov.my/takwim/takwim-sekolah-2021

LHS 2021 School Curriculum

Depending on the families and their needs, LHS school in PJ is offering both curriculums as well as a blend of each.  For the higher-risk children, or students with at-risk parents, we highly advise the online curriculum.  For parents who are considered essential workers, and don’t have a choice, we recommend in-school learning for their children. If families have been vaccinated, we let them decide on what it is they want to do!

Keep in mind, even before the COVID-19 outbreak, Little Human Scholars’ standard operating procedures included disinfecting the entire classroom and all of the toys every day.  The reason for this is because when children first start school, they are exposed to other children in a new environment.  This exposure to new germs can have them fall sick frequently.  Since our doors opened in 2014, we have taken the safety, health and wellness of every LHS student and staff member seriously, and we have had strict standard operating procedures to ensure this.

How to Enrol Your Child in the 2021 School Year

Whether you are registering you child for kindergarten, playschool, preschool or daycare, you can easily do so by making a phone call with one of our LHS team members.  One recommendation we make to parents is to have them heavily consider theirs and their familial needs before signing up for in-person classes or virtual learning.

Enroling your child at LHS is easy.  All you have to do is pick up the phone and call us at +6017-7303-025 or email us at enquiry@littlehumanscholars.com.my  We can even set up a time to zoom so we can walk you through the options we have available, different services, and of course help you decide what is the best plan of action for you and your family.

In summary, 2020 has been difficult for Malaysia – but we have persevered.  With schools slowly opening back up despite the partial lockdown, it has left many of us overly cautious and careful…and rightfully so!  If this year has showed us anything, it has showed us how every action we take can directly impact people around us.  Despite the challenges of this year, we have learned a lot and we also have become acutely sensitive and aware of the blessings we do have.

About Little Human Scholars Schools in PJ

Little Human Scholars is an all-in-one childcare solution.  It is a preschool, playschool, kindergarten, nursery and full-day daycare centre (with extended hours) located in the heart of PJ.

In fact, the location is one of the things which makes Little Human Scholars so sought after – it is conveniently nestled near Jalan Gasing, University hospital, PJ Old town, PJ New town, Jaya One, Jaya33, and the PJ IT Mall.

The best part is LHS school in PJ has premiere services many other schools in PJ don’t offer such as full-day daycare with extended hours, CCTV access for parents, and a nifty little phone app which provides parents with automatic updates on their child’s development, behaviour and health checks.

With full-time guards always present at each of their locations, access to CCTV (which is in every room except the office, bathroom and kitchen areas), and very strict pick-up and drop-off rules, Little Human Scholars treats every child who walks into its hallways as one of their own children!

This place has it all:  location, safety, health, IGSCE curriculum and play-based learning.  What more could you ask for?  Did I mention they also have transportation services and offer meal plans for students?  It doesn’t get any better than that.

If you are interested in a tour of one of our centres (that’s right, there’s more than one), all you need to do is fill out the form here or call +6017-7303-025 and an LHS administrative staff will get back with you shortly!

Cheers,
